Summer Schedule Change

Please note that we have moved the Provincial 1&2 Tumbling group summer training from Tuesday to Wednesday.  Daniela had a conflict with this time so it needed to be moved.

If you have any problems, conflicts or weeks that you know you will be away over the summer please drop us a line via email so that we can address these matters before the summer starts.  

Thanks for your understanding and commitment to the tumbling program as we move into the 2014/2015 Tumbling season.

Though it is not indicated on this post the coach that will be helping Daniela with the Developmental class is Amanda.

The Interclub group will be coached by Kiana who has been coaching the Developmental 1 group on Fridays this past year.  Kiana is a past Provincial level tumbler and has been completing her Level 2 coaching certification over the past year.  We have great confidence in Kiana as she will be preparing our Interclub level athletes for competition in this coming season.

All other coaches will stay the same.  Thank you for your patience while we were deciding on coaches for the 2014/2015 season.

OGC Year End Banquet

Please note that there will be no Tumbling Training on 

Wednesday, June 18th in the evening.  

The morning training will still take place.

  We are having our Year End Banquet at the St. Joseph's Ukrainian Church, 300 River Oaks Blvd. E.  

Meet and Greet starts at 5:30pm.  

Be sure to sign in when you arrive.

Sorry to get this schedule up so late.  It's been busy.

GALA & BANQUET

Just to let everyone know that in June we have both the Year End Gala Gymnastics Show and the Year End Banquet Dinner and Awards Night.  Please note that these are different events.

The Year End Gala is Thursday, June 5th from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Athletes will need to be at the gym for 5:30pm.  Seating for families starts at 5:30pm.  You will need to purchase tickets at the door or at the office in advance.  $5 per person or $15 per family of four.  Athletes who are in the show are free.

The OGC Year End Banquet and Awards Evening is Wednesday, June 18th.  You must purchase tickets in advance.  If your child won a Provincial or National Medal they will be receiving a plaque from the club and should attend the Banquet.  

As well special awards will be handed out to the 

Most Dedicate, 

Most Improved, 

Leadership and 

Athletes of the Year awards.

  

We hope to see everyone at the Year End Banquet.

Thank you to everyone who tried out this year.  We appreciated the huge turn out of interested gymnasts from our recreational program.  Keep enjoying gymnastics and we hope to see you tryout again next year.

May Tumbling Schedule

 

This schedule has been updated.

Here is the May schedule for the Oakville Gymnastics Club Tumbling Program.

Please note that the red type means a change.  This month there are A LOT of changes.

Daniela is away for almost the entire month, so there are supply coaches filling in for her.  Daniela will be returning to Bulgaria for the first time in 5 years to visit her mother and family with her two young boys.  We will miss Daniela as she is such an integral part of our Tumbling staff.  Please bear with us as we attempt to fill in her coaching time slots with supply coaches.

Also this month we have some of the most important tumbling competitions of the year Easterns and Canadian Championships.  

May 9th to 12th Amanda and Seamus will be at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Toronto with our large contingent of OGC tumblers.  Good luck to all competing.

At the same time May 7th to 12th Don and Niki will be in Daytona at the Stars and Strips competition with the majority of the National Group.  Please see the schedule for supply coaches and time changes for Niki's Developmental 2 group in her absence.

Wednesday, May 14th is the OPEN TRYOUTS for new tumblers.  If you are currently in the tumbling program you do not need to attend the Open Tryouts.  You will be assessed during regular class time.  There will be NO training on that night as the Tumbling Staff also help the Acro staff run their Open Tryout.  We need the coaches and the space to run the tryout.  Thanks for your understanding.

Monday, May 19th is Victoria Day and there will be NO training on that day.

Sunday, May 25th is the Allistion Interclub and Provincial 1&2 Tumbling Invitational.  

Tuesday, May 27th to Sunday, June 1st is the Canadian Championships for the National level tumblers in Ottawa.  Don and Niki will be gone that week as well.

Summer Weeks Off; 

The Tumbling Program will be taking the weeks of 
July 28th to August 1st 
and 
August 25th to August 29th off.

More information regarding the summer and fall/winter/spring schedules will be distributed soon.  We are trying to get you information sooner this year.
