Interclub Tumbling Competition

It was the event of the year complete with princesses, tiaras, crowns, smiles, tears, celebrities, tuxedos, cuteness, high glamour, red carpets, 

sugar, sugar and more sugar!

You had to be there to get the full experience but these photos will take you through the night.  

I almost forgot we even tumbled.

Oakville Elite Canada 2012 Tumbling Champions

The Oakville Gymnastics Club's tumblers bring home silver and bronze from the Elite Canada Championships.

Savannah Wepf place 2nd in the Women's tumbling with teammate Dezember Treleaven following her with the bronze medal.  Emily Smith of the Burlington B.G.'s captured another national title.

Congratulations to the Oakville Tumblers.

Michael Chaves competed in the Men's Tumbling finals but placed just outside of the medals in 4th.

Easter Weekend Training Schedule Changes TU

Please note that there will NOT be any tumbling training on Friday, April 6th or Monday, April 9th.

However there WILL BE TRAINING on Sunday, April 8th.

Elite Canada 2012 Airdrie Alberta

Four of the OGC's tumblers are competing this week at the 2012 Elite Canada Trampoline & Tumbling Championships in Airdrie, Alberta.

I will be posting videos of prelims on my youtube channel today.  Search donaldarchieholmes (all one word).

Presently after the preliminary round Michael Chaves is in 4th place out of 18 male tumblers with a score of 64.3.  This is Michael's first Senior competition competing against the rest of the senior men.  Michael has also achieved his first year Senior National team qualification score.  Michael is NOW officially on the Senior National Men's Tumbling Team.  Way to go Michael!

Ben Senior, who presently competes in the Novice 15+ category, landed in 12th spot with a score of 54.6.  At Elite Canada all levels compete against each other which is a different format than all other national events.

The OGC's Savannah Wepf and Dezember Treleaven both presently compete in the Youth Women's division.  Savannah place 4th after prelims with a score of 55.5 and Dezember Treleaven came in right behind her with a score of 54.6.

We had planned to travel around on our free Thursday but winter weather has put a damper on excursions.

Finals will take place on Friday, April 6th.  Scores will be posted live at the above link and there is a youtube channel that ALL finals will be posted on.  I will find that link and post it here.
