Elite Canada Day 2 Jonathan Meehan 2nd in Canada
Day 2 of Elite Canada saw the OGC's Jonathan Meehan and Michael Chaves both competing in the Men's Tumbling final. In the final competition that athletes compete from a fresh start, that is the scores from Day 1 are erased and all the final competitors start from zero. The two best scoring passes on the day of finals win.
Michael Chaves had another solid performance landing him in 5th place overall in Canada. What Michael lacks in degree of difficulty he makes up for in consistency and clean execution.
Jonathan Meehan had his best performance to date. He performed a new personal best landing his routine that contains three double saltos and finally managed to get his twisting pass to his feet. Jonathan came into finals in 8th place. The fresh start finals was a great opportunity for Jonathan to step up his game and land his passes. His execution and classy tumbling put him behind the reigning National Champion and international superstar Alex Seifert. This was only Jonathan's second National Team Competition as a Senior and he is proving that he is going to be one of Canada's strongest tumblers as he develops over the next couple years.
Congratulations to Jonathan Meehand and Michael Chaves on their great performances at the 2011 Trampoline & Tumbling Elite Canada competition.
